In general, amendments to the Comprehensive Plan and/or Future Land Use Map (FLUM) can be adopted only twice per year. Small scale map amendments, as defined in § 163.3187(1)(c), FS, are exempt from the twice per year adoption rule and have a shorter adoption time frame. Contact the comprehensive planner for exceptions to this rule.
Comprehensive Plan and FLUM amendments are subject not only to the local review process, but also to state review.
A pre-application meeting is required prior to submitting an application.
